Real-World Factors to Think About

  • Exposure – A Christmas tree is the centerpiece of any holiday home. Put it in the middle of the room or in a quiet nook to be the focal point.
  • Allow for safe passage between your tree and any doors or paths that it may intersect with. Prepare for gifts by setting aside additional room.
  • Furniture – You might have to move things around or get rid of certain things to make way for your tree. Choose a small, tabletop tree if you’d like to preserve your existing furniture arrangement.
  • Sunlight can brighten and warm a room, so make sure to let some in.
  • Put your Christmas tree close to a power outlet so that it can be lit up quickly and easily. This avoids the use of potentially dangerous and aesthetically offensive extension cords.
  • Avoid fire hazards by placing your tree some distance from heaters, fireplaces, and candles.
  • The second step is to take measurements of your available space.

Having decided where you want your tree to go, you should now assess the size of the available space. Thinking OF purchasing a fake Christmas tree but not sure how to go about measuring for one? Do what we suggest and follow these easy steps.

Assemble the following supplies:

  • Instrument for measuring distances, commonly known as “tape”
  • Ladder, Step
  • Use of a Pen and Paper
  • Take a reading from your measuring tape from the top of the ladder, all the way down to the ground.
  • Take 12 inches off the ceiling height if you want to utilize a tree topper. Deduct 6 inches from your ceiling height if you don’t plan on using a topper. The total height of your Christmas tree, including the base, is this much. Keep in mind that the height of a Balsam Hill® tree is determined by its height in relation to the tree stand.
  • Use a measuring tape to determine how much room you have on the floor for your tree. Do this after you rearrange your furnishings to get a better feel for the available area.

Take this length and subtract 12 inches from it. Your tree can expand no further than this.
